THE PROBLEM:
Your child isn't lazy.
Yet the grade still won't move.
Most parents arrive with a version of the same story. The homework is done. The essays are handed in. The tutor before this one was perfectly nice. And the grade has sat in the same place for two years.
Here is why that happens, and it isn't your child's fault.
Maths has a right answer, so a wrong answer tells you exactly where the gap is. English and General Paper do not work that way. The feedback comes back as "so?", "how?", or worse, a flat "no".
None of that tells a sixteen-year-old what to do differently.
So they do the only thing available to them. They write more essays. The same way, because nobody has shown them another way. Practice without correction doesn't fix the habit. It hardens it.
OUR SOLUTION:
Not more mindless practices.
A pathway.
Your child should be able to sit down in front of a blank page and know precisely what the first sentence is doing, what the second one is doing and what the marker wants by the end of the paragraph.
That is a teachable thing. Yet so many students continue being stumped, fumbling over sentences and feeling daunted.
The fix? A tutor with the dedication and expertise to resolve their problems and build their confidence.
This is exactly why we developed our own curriculum. A syllabus built to identify the cracks in a student's foundation, clear up the stubborn mistakes that have followed them for years and improve their writing drastically, once and for all.
How? We employ a multifocal approach.
First, we diagnose the existing issues. Every single work submitted is carefully analysed to reveal each child's respective weaknesses. Line-by-line, our teachers patiently review the child's writing style, foundational weaknesses, vocabulary, structure and argumentation.
Then we repair the foundation. This is the unglamorous part and it is the part most centres skip, because it is far easier to teach model answers than to go back and fix why a student's sentences keep collapsing under their own weight. It is also far easier to give a handful of comments about broad ideas than the line-by-line, detailed and constructive feedback we give that go far beyond just ideas. We dive deep. Grammar, phrasing and even implied meanings. We correct the root cause that has been holding your child's marks back.
We don't stop there. Fixing weaknesses is definitely useful, but we do so much more. We elevate our students' work, broadening their horizons. From contextual knowledge and vocabulary to argumentation, depth of details and explanation, we work closely with every student to boost their writing skills.
With a coverage so thorough, your child no longer has to fear any component of the English or General Paper syllabus. All of it is broken down by question type and drilled separately. Essay structure. Comprehension, question type by question type. Summary, split into finding the points and rewriting them properly. The application question, where we take the generic structure schools hand out and make it detailed enough to actually score. Every worksheet is written in-house rather than photocopied out of an assessment book, and each one walks through the technique step by step, so a student with a weak foundation can still follow.
The aim throughout is simple. Your child should never again be looking at a question with no idea what to do first. We're here to guide them forward so they can take on the syllabus with confidence and ease.
HOW WE DO IT:

every week
1. SMALL GROUPS
A student in a class of twenty to thirty carries the whole burden themselves. They have to notice their own weakness, work out what the teacher's general advice means for their specific script and then apply it alone.
A student in a small class is relieved of that burden, because the tutor already knows what the weaknesses of every single student and is working on these weaknesses with each of them.
We keep our classes deliberately small with no more than eight home class students and we would rather turn a parent away than quietly let a class grow beyond that.
2. TARGETED PRACTICES, NOT JUST VOLUME
Every question type is broken down and drilled deliberately. Essay structure. Comprehension by question type. Summary, split into the different skillsets required. Our worksheets are written in-house, not photocopied out of assessment books, and they walk through the technique step-by-step so a student with a weak foundation can still follow.
3. IN-DEPTH, PERSONALISED FEEDBACK, RETURNED QUICKLY
Feedback three weeks after an essay is history, not teaching. By then your child has forgotten the decisions they made while writing it, so the comments land on a stranger's work. We turn marking around fast, while they still remember what they were trying to do, and every piece comes back with detailed comments and actionable next steps, specifically targeting your child’s weaknesses. Not just vague "so?" comments that trap the student in a loop of self-questioning and repetition of mistakes.
4. SUPPORT OUTSIDE CLASS
Your child messages the tutor directly whenever they need help. Not a front desk, not a ticketing queue and certainly not a once-a-week class. They use it for a sentence they can't get right, a phrasing they're unsure of or a plan they want checked before they commit an hour to writing it. Inside the lesson there's a private channel too. An advantage that no physical class can replicate, so a student who doesn't want to be the one admitting they're lost can seek assistance from the tutor without embarrassment.
5. A CURRICULUM BUILT ON LEGAL ARGUMENT AND TUTORS THAT DELIVER IT WITH PRECISION
Wonder Writers was founded by Jolyn, an NUS Law graduate, a lawyer and a member of the Law Society of Singapore.
That background matters for one specific reason. An argumentative essay and a legal submission are the same job. State a position. Defend it against the strongest thing the other side could say. Close the gap before the reader finds it. Lawyers are trained to do exactly this, under time pressure, for a hostile reader. It is a craft with rules, and rules can be taught.
The curriculum was written from scratch, in-house, over months. It works on the foundation first, so cracks identified can be remedied quickly. Then it adds the answer-enhancement techniques that separate an average script from one that impresses a marker.
Even our comprehension practices are crafted with a dedication to precision. Every answering technique hones the student’s skills in targeting the right portion of the passage, drawing accurate inferences and delivering a smooth execution of the answers.
Every tutor here teaches from that same curriculum. The standard remains high for all of our classes, every single lesson.
6. EXPERT TUTORS
Beyond her background in law, our head tutor Jolyn personally teaches classes and has guided many students from a failing grade to a distinction. Just last year, in 2025, 91.3% of Jolyn's students scored As and/or improved by 2 or more grades. A feat only achievable with a syllabus that works, a tutor with the expertise and a promise to every student of the tutor's dedication to their academic excellence.
However, the quality doesn't end there. Every single tutor here is legally trained and possesses argumentation finesse, along with the acuity to identify the different pitfalls in each component of the syllabus. Not one lesson is handed off to a tutor with mediocre standards.
