Our Upper IP programme goes beyond Secondary 3 and 4 English in rigour.
We focus on language, comprehension and essay writing, and deliberately prepare students for the demands of Year 5 and 6, where General Paper awaits.
Language: Students refine their expression to a more mature, precise and persuasive standard, with close feedback on word choice, sentence control and tone.
Essay Writing: We train students to tackle abstract and contemporary questions with nuance. Students learn to define terms, weigh competing views, sustain an argument and support it with well-chosen examples drawn from a wide range of topics.
Bridge to General Paper: Lessons introduce the thinking skills, essay structures and content breadth expected in Year 5 and 6, so students begin JC with a head start rather than a steep learning curve.
We also provide IN-DEPTH, TAILORED FEEDBACK to address EACH student’s strengths and weaknesses with a QUICK TURNAROUND TIME of 1-2 days.
